How this product is actually built

A Zigbee line is a system product, not a device product. The panel is easy; the hard parts are the gateway firmware your customers never see, the app that must survive a phone upgrade, the cloud account your distributor's customer expects to keep for ten years, and the radio certification that changes with every antenna tweak.

We run the line as one program: gateway and app architecture first, then the device roadmap on a shared radio and design platform, then certification (CE/RED for radio, UKCA, RoHS, optional Zigbee 3.0 Alliance certification) and pilot batch. You own the tooling, the app skin and the cloud relationship.

What brands ask before starting

We are a new brand — should we start with KNX or Zigbee?

It depends on your channel, not on the protocol. If your buyers are developers, consultants and integrators working on specification-driven projects, start with KNX. If you sell retail, e-commerce, hotels or distributor channels where the customer lives in an app, start with Zigbee — lower entry cost, faster to market. The feasibility call settles this in 30 minutes with your actual channel in front of us.

Do you provide the app and the cloud, or do we bring our own?

Both routes work. Most clients take our platform app with their brand skin — logo, colours, feature set — on a per-account cloud that carries your brand, not ours. If you already have an app or use a Tuya-based stack today, we can target compatibility or plan a migration.

Can one product line mix KNX and Zigbee devices?

Yes, and it is a common shape: a KNX panel line for the project channel and a Zigbee sensor-and-motor line for retail, sharing the same design language. The two buses are bridged at the gateway or the room controller level, so the end customer sees one system.

What does Zigbee 3.0 certification cost and is it required?

Zigbee Alliance membership plus per-product certification is a real cost — typically a low five-figure USD total for a first product — and for many channels it is optional. CE/RED radio compliance, on the other hand, is not optional in Europe. We price both routes and tell you honestly which your channel actually demands.
